Let Employees Lead

Increasing employees' decision-making, and participation can be as simple as letting them be in control of how a project or task is achieved and allowing them to take credit for the results.


Step Back from the Decision-Making

One of the best things you can do as a manager to enjoy managerial productivity is to sometimes take a step back from the decision-making process. Create a room for employees to be able to take decisions quickly, without looking for your approval all the time. Let them weigh the options of their decisions on their own mental scales and determine the best way to proceed.


Let Employees Bounce Ideas off Each Other

To enhance participation, look for every chance to make employees work together as a team to contribute to the effectiveness, and growth of the organization. Sometimes, you can encourage them to come up with multiple ideas and options to reach an idea that will bring value to the organization. Support them in bringing this idea to fruition. In this way, employees learn to contribute to the growth of the company without fear of being shunned.


Get Employees to Applaud

Once you encourage value-focused decision making also, encourage employees to praise their colleagues when they see good decisions made. This helps other employees see examples of good decision-making and improve productivity.
