The Etiquette Savvy Boss: Don't Underutilize Etiquette Essential Tools

Being a good boss involves having proper business manners. It's also maybe one of the toolbox's least-used items. As a savvy leader, never underutilize the etiquette essential tools.

It's essential that you grasp business etiquette if you manage a business or a team. Here are five pointers:

1. Always act professionally when working with junior staff members, not just when you're feeling good about yourself.

2. Be a wise boss rather than a poisonous one who is impolite to less experienced employees. In order to avoid expressing a toxic feeling when you are upset about anything an employee did wrong, take your time and consider your words before speaking. Show your displeasure without being rude. Recognize successes and offer gratitude.

3. Act like a LEADER and not a PERSON IN CHARGE.

4. Treat your employees with RESPECT and DIGNITY.

5. If there are codes of conduct at work, as a savvy etiquette boss with good manners, be the first to follow them. If you violate any of these codes of behaviour, subject yourself to disciplinary action and don't create an avenue for junior staff members to speak poorly of you behind your back. Always set a positive example for others.
